My two cents: all the BEA consultants I've worked with pronounced it as an abreviation, rather than an acronym i.e. B-E-A, rather then "bee" or "bee-a" as I've often heard.

I tend to avoid the confusion by just talking about Weblogic.

David - any relation to the "A" in BEA (it's a joke I know it is spelled differently)

BEA stands for "Bill, Edward, Alfred", the three ex-Sun honchos who started it. The people inside BEA say it as David said - spell out the letters.

I always go for spelling the letters one by one unless the acronym clearly (and intentionally) forms a word in the English language. I would never call BEA 'bee' simply because it's not BEE, it's BEA.
