Just curious if someone knows of an eclipse plugin that works like windowbuilder where you can design the page in design mode, save it as a class and then print it out as needed?  Just thought this would be cool plugin.  M only experience printing with code was in the VB6.0 days and that was a real nightmare.

Thanks

Is that some kind of WYSIWYG for Eclipse thing you're looking for? I recommend searching the Eclipse marketplace: https://marketplace.eclipse.org/search/site/wysiwyg. There's even a project called windowbuilder in the results which may or may not be related to the one you mention. You be the judge.

Sorry I worded this a little confusing!

As far as printing to paper is concerned, I haven't done this through code for several years (read pre VB.net).  Back then it was a huge deal to format and set the document you wanted to print.  In this thread I was just wondering is someone knows of an eclipse plug in/or even an API that made printing easier.  I was thinking maybe there might be a plug in that allowed you to design the page you want printed in a WYSIWYG style and eclipse would build the appropriate code, in the same fashion windowbuilder allows you to build GUI's visually, then add the functionality code after.   Sorry it was late last night when this thought came to me and I was surfing this site when I was thinking this, I thought I would ask!  I have not searched marketplace yet as I was on my phone and marketplace kind of sucks on a mobile device!

Thanks

I always thought it was quite easy to print from a Swing GUI or similar.

I'm a little confused about what it is exactly you want to print out on paper?

I have been reading a bit at lunch here at work.  It looks like the phase of printing I'm talking about is "page imaging".  I have been reading the information found here:

https://docs.oracle.com/javase/tutorial/2d/printing/printable.html

So far what I see is printing to paper is the same as drawing to the screen. using the Graphics2D.
