Host your picture somewhere on the web.

Click "My Profile" in the header.

Select the "General Information about yourself" section.

Add the URL for the photo in the appropriate field.

For example, mine is at https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/2524225/photos/avatars/tikwa7/bootedbear-by-tikwa7-b.jpg

About 10 bazillion ways. A few:

  • Your ISP may include web storage.
  • Use any of the free photo posting services.
  • Use Dropbox or any of the other cloud storage services.
  • 10 bazillion - 3 other ways...

  • Another way I haven't tried but may work:
  • Post a "hello" thread in the Ranch Office and upload your photo as an attachment.
  • Right click on the image and display it in another tab or window.
  • Use the URL of the photo in your profile.

  • Some are good for forum images such as tinypic. Some others don't let you link directly to an image.

Why don't Code Ranch provide such features which allow user to select their picture from computer? Just my suggestions.

It does for posts (my attachment suggestion), but not profile photos.

I upload my profile picture by adding photo URL to the appropriate field, but I can't see my picture there

That's because you used the URL of the HTML page, rather than the photo itself. I have fixed the URL for you.

    Thanks for the suggestions.
