Part of the US is supposed to get a good amount of snow today? Anyone have a lot? Any pictures?

Where I am, we hardly have any thus far. But schools are closed in anticipation of it getting worse and so people aren't driving.

There were photos in yesterday's newspapers of snow in the Midwest, saying it had fallen 50′ deep in toto and the drought was over.

We got about an inch overnight.  Northeast of me, they're getting an inch an hour.   The forecast is for pretty constant snow through tomorrow, so we're waiting patiently for the 5-7" we were promised.

We got about eight inches. Some rain melted some snow so hard to tell. Tomorrow is more interesting. The snow will freeze and there might be a bit more. So snow sandwich with ice as the filling!

No snow here at all this year. Today is a delightful 13 degrees bright spring day.

That's about the largest average yearly snowfall in the US (at Mt Rainier, WA): http://www.currentresults.com/Weather-Extremes/US/snowiest.php, under "Heaviest Yearly Snowfalls"

A blast from the past. This is why I now live in Austin.

It is sorta covered in the JavaRanch Style Guide.
