Hello!

I found this forum because I'm looking for some help with my self development path. I'm working full time as a Graphic Designer in Poland but I want to change my profession to a Java Dev so I started learning from online courses.
I think I got some basic knowledge but I want to create something like a plan or just list some steps to take now. My first idea was to learn Java by creating a basic game and porting it to android, so I've found a next online course for that (I'm at a android porting part right now).
I would like to hear your opinion on what steps you think I should take to try finding a work as Junior Java Dev. Every time I read a job description I'm terrified by the requirements

So basically I'm asking you if you can help me with creating a plan or a list of things to look for to get a job as Junior.

Thank you for reading this - if you think that it's not enough info please ask me about anything.

P.S English isn't my native language so I'm sorry for any mistakes.

Sorry that nobody else has replied, and welcome to the Ranch

Please tell us how much Java® experience you have, and how much programming you know. Please search the Beginning Java® forum and the Java® in General forum, because there are quite a lot of people who ask similar questions.
I would suggest you open an account with Github or similar, so you can publish your work. If you aren't happy with a particular project, hide it
I would also suggest you ask your friends whether anybody needs some programming: do the football club need a database for storing their players' details, and matches, for example?

Hey Bartosz,

the part with the game is (I think) the best way to learn any language. Set a goal and take a look how it work and you'll see - hmm that's nice, that I wanna have in my game -

And if you want to make Java Dev as your main job, take a look with some basic stuff, design pattern, testing and so on (its my exp. from some job interviews ;) )

so good luck and rock on

cheers Chris
