Helllo,

I am planning to take OCEJWSD exam (1Z0-897)

As per oracle, below is the prior version requirement

Step1 - Prior Certification Requirements

Oracle or Sun Certified Java Programmer (Professional) any version

I want to to know that if it is must that I take OCJP for OCEJWSD

I am have done only one oracle certification which is "Oracle Application Development Framework 11g Certified Implementation Specialist"

I was able to schedule OCEJWSD exam and reach till the payment page in my "pearson vue" account. I did not pay and aborted the registration as I though it would be a good idea to confirm this here first.

Thanks,
Mozakkir

Yes.

Although you can change the order: take OCEJWSD first and then OCP, but you will only receive a certificate for OCEJWSD after OCP. If you want to be sure, go to the Oracle certification page and chat with a representative.

It is sorta covered in the JavaRanch Style Guide.
