Hi guys, first off I would like to thanks a lot for making the learning Java 8 as simple as possible. I am going to appear for professional certification in Java 8 on 13th of May. Previously i had heard that after passing professional exam Oracle will provide an Identity Card and actual certificates delivered to our residence. But now i don't see any of such franchises in Oracle site. Have they discontinued it? Or we might get that for Master certification?

If I remember correctly, you get a downloadable certificate as well as the ability for a third party (such as an employer) to verify your certificate with Oracle.  You can also request to have a free certificate mailed to you, but I don't think it happens automatically anymore.

Unfortunately Oracle does not send hard copy printed certificates anymore to help protect the environment! But on the positive side: you can get a hard copy of an Oracle T-shirt

Ha!  I guess they stopped printing them.  For $245, I think you should get the option of being sent a printed one.  That said, I find it quite humorous they use the environment as an excuse.  I'm sure the real reason was cost-cutting and/or logistics.

Although I requested the hard copy certificate each time, I definitely won't miss it. Back in the Sun(ny) days, you even got a shiny lapel pin. That was really a nice "gift"!

I have two: SCJP 1.4 and SCJP 5.0. Unfortunately both look exactly the same, it didn't include the Java version.

And for those wondering how such a lapel pin looks like...
