Welcome Zak Ruvalcaba & Mary Delamater.

In the text, do you touch on integration in general and/or specifically with regard to RichFaces and/or PrimeFaces?  If not, is there any general guidance that you may be able to provide on how (and maybe what versions) and/or best practices on making that integration work especially when working from a back-level (prior to RichFaces 4.5) version, if at all possible?

There is nothing in the Table of Contents that indicates any coverage of JSF. And frankly, I'd be very surprised to see a general book on JavaScript or jQuery cover such a niche technology.

You are correct, Bear - the book doesn't address JSF, and I don't have anything intelligent to say about it myself, either

Thanks Mary and Bear.

I'll attempt to answer my own question, please feel very free to correct me if needed.

There is NO General "Top Ten" Guide Of Things To Do and/or "Best Practices" when your JQuery conflicts with "packaged" JQuery.  When there are conflicts, (your individual) specifics matter.

For "Richfaces JQuery" combined with "Other JQuery" specifically, I found these links:
How to update (override) jQuery version in Richfaces (3.3.3 Final) ?
How to map several JQuery resources to one
Use newer version of JQuery with RichFaces
Newer jQuery with Richfaces

Thanks for posting back with that information, Charles. I have awarded you a cow for the effort.

I have also added this post to the JSF forum to make it easier to find for those interested in JSF.
