We use angular at work, and being primarily a backend developer, sometimes I find it difficult to understand the Javascript declarations - with anonymous functions, closures, and module declarations. Does this book have some examples of complex declarations from the real world javascript code?

Hi Salil

I thought I replied to this post yesterday, but I don't see my reply today   So I'll try again, and if eventually there's a duplicate post, you'll know why...

The final chapters of section 3 address just these concepts - object notation, closures, immediately invoked function expressions, the module pattern. It was important to me to include fairly extensive discussion and explanation of these things, because I had the same experience that you're describing when I was first learning JavaScript. My experience was with backend languages (C# and PHP), so while the syntax was familiar, a lot of the code wasn't. Even worse, many of the JavaScript books I read either didn't address these things at all, or only minimally, and then I would come across JavaScript code online that I struggled to understand. We worked hard in this book to present these topics in a clear way that's understandable, but also in a detailed way so that people will understand the code they run across in the real world.

I do a lot of backend programming also.  This is my weakest area.  I have other books in the Murach series on different subjects.  Glad you asked Salil.

Regards,
Glada
