Hi @Barry Burd, what are some good resources on Java for IoT and preferably some samples to create demo with IoT devices.

Start here: https://dzone.com/articles/getting-started-iot-and-java. The Raspberry is probably the best device to get started learning (unless you have a specific application or device in mind already).

I'll be looking into the Android Things API (https://developer.android.com/things/index.html) when I have a few minutes. It runs on a Raspberry Pi 3.

Hi Barry,

It's been so long since I worked with Java, I'm definitely in need of a Beginner's book, so I am looking forward to reading yours.

The last version I played with was v1.4, and I'm so rusty it's untrue. What, in your opinion, are the main changes I should focus on that will give me the best return for the time investment?

Thanks!
Mark
