That's not possible, and we should be thankful for that for security reasons. Can you elaborate on what you are trying to achieve?

You can with javascript. use window.open method in onClick handler:

Before that verify if path to file is correct by pasting it as url in browser

Yeah, no self-respecting browser is going to let you perform code execution on a client machine unless it's sand-boxed.

Mark, that will just download the file, not execute it.
