Barry,
Please any and all help is appreciated. I am stuck. Command prompt will not allow me access to any JAVA functions. I am receiving the same error no matter what I try to accomplish.
I have tried to enter a  java class from text document, directly enter the code for the class, and sql entries give me the same error.

ERROR:
ORA-12154: TNS:could not resolve the connect identifier specified
Eclipse will not run. I have tried to run simple class files with just a system out and Eclipse wants me to run it as an Ant Build.
Everything was working fine 2 days ago.

I tried to reinstall everything and now I cannot enter the jdk path in System Variables.
What can I do to ensure a clean installation, hopefully remove the error, and get back to entering code?
Thank you

What response do you get when you type:

  java -version

This is a database error, not Java.

How do you execute the simple Java class?  Pressing the Play button?  Alt-F9?  Right-click and select Run As > Java Application?

Can you expand on this?  What happens when you try to enter the JDK path in System Variables?

Can you post screenshots so I can eyeball the symptoms? Thanks.
