I'm new to Java Enterprise Edition environment and i am working on a school project which is an eCommerce website. At backend I'm using Java servlet and frontend i have a responsive eCommerce template (with HTML 5,CSS, Bootstrap and jQuery). How do i work with Java on this template? How do i change template content with Java servet without affecting its style (design)?

Generrally, when using servlets as a backend, JSP is used to generate the front-end pages. This does not preclude the use of the other front-end technologies you listed.

Or, you can use servlets to create a pure RESTful API and just use Ajax from the front-end. Usually this is done as an SPA (single page application) using a JavaScript framework.
