Hi guys, i am new in this forum ...Want to know the time req to learn core Java with no coding background.and also which book should I prefer.

I would suggest covering tutorials on the net. Post your questions on forums . Get more coding experience. Don't stick to theory

That varies a lot from person to person, but don't expect even proficiency in under a year. For expertise, you will probably have to allow about ten years.

Go through this website and you will find book review pages. Have a look there. Head First Java by Sierra and Bates is good; it is rather old now, so don't pay full price.
