One I saw today on a t-shirt made me smile:

The first is from George Box
all models are wrong; some are useful

Another one that comes up sometimes is from the far side. It's nice for avoiding helplessness.

A personal fave:

A modification (clarification?) on a common phrase:
You don't get what you don't pay for.

Reminds me of a Dutch saying "doe maar normaal, dan doe je al gek genoeg" = "just act normal, that's already crazy enough".

I've never liked that saying. It's much more interesting if you express yourself and show your uniqueness.

I was introduced to this quote in another thread from last month started by Randall. It's from a book I've never heard of (The Sword of Truth) by an author I've never heard of (Terry Goodkind).

Anyway, it has kind of stuck with me.
Only those you trust can betray you

"All problems in computer science can be solved by another level of abstraction" - "...except for the problem of too many layers of abstraction."  [actual quote is indirection, but abstraction is quite fitting].

When you buy a flat or house, you can choose two out of three: [1] good location, [2] good flat/house, [3] good price
And that's true
