Who controls that one entity instance belongs to one persistence context?

In the free examclouds mock exam, there is a question asking "who controls the a managed entity belongs to one persistence context?"
The answer is application.

I think the answer is correct is application managed entity manager is used.
But if the container managed entity manager is used, I think the container controls that.
Any comments?

No, it is still the application that controls that.

3.2.8 Managed Instances
It is the responsibility of the application to insure that an instance is managed in only a single persistence context. The behavior is undefined if the same Java instance is made managed in more than one persistence context.
