The Android forum (which is as simple or as advanced as its visitors make it to be) is the best place to ask questions that relate specifically to Android. If the question is mainly about functional programming aspects, then the FP forum would be appropriate.

OK

My question is how do you wrap the db calls to make them as Observable so that I can subscribe them to send the data to the UI,Presenter or View Model. I heard about a square product called SQLbrite, or Real but I am wondering how it would work with the latest google architectural component Room that insure persistency. It looks as everybody uses a different solution

Also I would like to know which kind of functional RXJava strategy do you use in the repository layer to maintain consistency between local and remote calls.
