Updated Fedora25→Fedora26 with Mate desktop and there is an icon I haven't seen before on my upper panel. I think I have attached a little screenshot. Not the left one, which is Bluetooth (turned off). Not the right one, which is SELinux. The middle one, like an orange and cyan box.

I haven't seen that before. What is it?

It looks slightly different colours in the screenshot, and slightly larger. Must be to do with seeing it on a different screen.

It might be a thing called dnfdragora which is a package management program. I shall search about dnfdragora later.

A bot more about it here. It seems to be used for updating instead of yumex.

Thank you for the cow, whoever it was.
I have taken dnf dragora off my startup programs menu because it is quicker and easier to search updates with
sudo dnf update
at a terminal.

And some info appears to be there --> https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Changes/Replace_yumex-dnf_with_dnfdragora

That appears to be the same stuff as Homebrew on macOS as well as Linuxbrew on Linux distributions. However I use MacPorts. Have you ever tried former? It is quite popular.

For the next 3 months
27 supposed to come out soon.

And I see Fedora is a bit more creative about its OS's code names rather than macOS.

Fedora 17 - Beefy Miracle
Fedora 18 - Spherical Cow
Fedora 19 - Schrödinger's Cat

And when did a Fedora release last come out anything near its scheduled date?

You obviously don't use Ubuntu, then.

Those names (well, 17 and 18) suggest they have been on the Ranch

Don't get me started about those stupid light bulbs.
