Hi guys, I am planning to create a program that can allow users to bid and sell stocks online. Is there an api where I can trade US stocks?

I would imagine that brokerage firms have them. Assuming you have signed up for one, does its web site have a developer section?

Also, unless those "users" that you are referring to are just a handful of family members sharing your brokerage account, you will very likely run into a few regulatory issues too. What you are describing can be classified as an ECN, which means that you may have to register as a broker/dealer with the SEC (for access to the US stock market). And of course, must comply with the many rules that that entails.

Also, the API won't be free Brokerage firms charge per trade.
