Hello everyone
Today I appeared the
OCAJP 8 certification and passed with 81%.
This was the first time I've ever tried for any certification. I was planning for giving this exam for a long time but was not able to schedule as I was afraid I might fail. Everytime I visited this forum I saw people sharing their stories about the success. Finally, I gathered the courage and scheduled for the exam.
I ordered OCA
Java 8 certification guide by Mala Gupta and prepared for 3 months everyday like 4 hours. I read each page and practiced all the given examples, sample questions and mock exam from the Book. I'm thankful to Mala for writing such a great book. 1 or 2 code examples in the book have typos but that's ok because you're going to execute the code example and find the correct answer.
I purchased enthuware simulator for mock exam. This is a great software, I recommend everyone should purchase this software who are preparing for the exam. They are offering a quality software in cheap price. Please go through every description mentioned in each question even if you selected correct option. I found it very helpful. Sometimes the correct answer you selected might have different reason for being correct. You'll learn new things in every question. Whenever I was stuck I opened the book and re-read the chapter. I completed all the tests from the software except
test 7, I scored only 63% on the final test because of my silly mistakes. Please read the whole question before attempting to answer and also consider the time limit, it will help in real exam.
I suggest not to use any IDE. I used Geany for most of the code execution.
This was my result
Test 1 - 63%
Test 2 - 66%
Test 3 - 59% (Oh God!)
Test 4 - 70%
Test 5 - 59% (Again!)
Test 6 - 74%
Last day - 63% (
Oops! I read the most important topics after this result again)
Real exam 81%
What I've learned today is that hard-work eventually pays off. Never hold yourself back. Now, heading for OCJP 8 certification
