What is the difference between DelegatingFilterProxy and DelegatingActionProxy? If both of them are used to link struts with spring then why two different things?

One implements javax.servlet.Filter and the other implements org.apache.struts.action.Action. Note that DelegatingActionProxy is deprecated.

That is fine, but which one integrates spring with struts?

Well... what parts of Spring and what parts of Struts do you want to use?

I have a project which uses struts for UI layer, spring for service layer and hibernate for DAO layer and it uses both DelegatingFilterProxy and DelegatingActionProxy. I want to know what is the role of both proxies?

DelegatingFilterProxy is used to add Spring managed components to the request processing pipeline. DelegatingActionProxy is used to delegate requests in a Spring managed application to a Struts action.

I think that they deprecated DelegatingActionProxy because since Spring 3 you can let Spring manage the Struts actions directly.

Here you can find what should be done instead of using the deprecated methods.
