I want to upload image by Jquery

Hi, i can upload image when form is submitted but if i want to use Jquery upload plugin ,how can i do it ? If user uploads the files but doesn't submit the form and closes the window or goes to another page ,what will happen with the files?

If you have successfully uploaded image using JQuery, Could you please describe only those functionality in simple steps, what do we need to learn to do basic image upload image functionality ?
