I am using following BEA WebLogic version on my machine (3.0 GHz, 1GB RAM):

Console Release Build8.1.2.0Server Release Build8.1.2.0Server BuildWebLogic Server 8.1 SP2 Fri Dec 5 15:01:51 PST 2003 316284 All Server Product VersionsWebLogic Server 8.1 SP2 Fri Dec 5 15:01:51 PST 2003 316284
WebLogic XMLX Module 8.1 SP2 Fri Dec 5 15:01:51 PST 2003 316284

When I deploy my application, the CPU usage goes to 100% and all other applications come to grinding halt. Any advise?

Try out following things
(1)Turn off JSP Recompile option
(2)Increase the Virtual Memory size
(3)Use different Version of JDK then the current one
