Hello.
The reason for this question is because I want to take the certification and I plan to do it with the company NETEC.
Has anyone taken it with this company?
Is this Oracle Partner?
I have many doubts about that.
If not, I would be grateful if they would tell me how to take the certification directly with Oracle.

I'm not too sure if NETEC is an Oracle partner or not.

I know that for North America this is one process to scheduling an Oracle exam:
  • Go To http://pearsonvue.com/oracle/
  • Create an account or sign in
  • Choose Proctored Exam (if you want the Java 8 exams)
  • Find the correct exam (1Z0-808)
  • Find the testing center that you want to take the test at
  • Schedule the exam
  • Pay $X, varies depending on currency, country and exam

  • Even before you create an account you can contact Oracle/Person Vue using the options provided on this page
    https://home.pearsonvue.com/Contact-Us.aspx
When you contact them, they may be able to tell you if NETEC is a Oracle partner and where the testing centers are which are somewhat close to you.

    Hope this helps you out.

Thank you very much for giving me the instructions for the test.
I was very confused about this, I found the oracle page confusing and looking everywhere.
I will do the procedure you mentioned.
    Thank you very much!

I'm glad I was able to help.

Please remember that during business hours (and possibly after) you can do an online web chat or call by phone with the Pearson Vue people. After hours I think that the only way to contact them is by email.
I mention this only because they could direct you to the correct steps quicker then me and they should be able to tell you about the testing centers which are close to you.

I hope you are able to get your test scheduled and I wish you all the best with your test (and otherwise as well).

You may want to look at this page
    https://coderanch.com/wiki/659980/Ocajp-Wall-Fame
To see what resources other people have used and how they prepared for the exam.

Many people, including me, feel that Enthuware is well worth the money. Currently I believe that Enthuware for the OCA 1Z0-808 exam is about $10 USD.
However $10 USD for exam type questions, which can tell you your weak subject areas to help you prepare can really help out.

Not only that, many people feel that the questions provided by Enthuware are generally more difficult then the actual exam.
There are stories of people getting 65% on the Enthuware exams and then getting more then 75% on the actual exam.

However in the end, a pass is a pass and get 65% on the exam is as good as getting 75% or whatever as long as you have passed.
Remember that the test is all multiple choice and you don't loose marks for answering incorrectly, so answer all the questions if time permits.

    Thanks for your support.
As soon as I finish the OCA book by Jeanne Boyarsky and Scott Selikoff, I will take the Enthuware exam to prepare me even more.
I think in two months or less I'll be ready.

No problem, and you are welcome.

Enthuware is actually a package of about nine different mock tests.
    The idea is:
  • You take a test to see how good you do. The results tell you what to learn.
  • You wait at least one day, if not more, to learn what you do not know.
  • Repeat steps one and two until complete.

  • The whole Enthuware process should take at least one week to complete, if not more.

Now, about the final test in Enthuware. There is some debate as to when exactly to take it.
If you day it the day before your exam then you may not have enough time to improve your knowledge for the real exam.
On the other hand, there is a chance that by time you are ready to take the the final test that you have reached the burnout stage and/or you are not going to learn any more before the exam.

One other suggestion if I may.
Do not use a fully featured IDE like Eclipse or IntelliJ when preparing for the exam.
Instead use something like Notepad++ (which is free) and write many programs ranging in size from 10 lines to 100 lines to better understand how Java does things.

Yes, I will take the enthuware test time before putting my examination date.
Also, here in the forum I read about not using any IDE, so I only use mousepad and compile it in the shell.
I'm starting with the second chapter of the book that I mentioned earlier, I'm still in a firm step

    Thank you, so much!
