Just curious for people's opinion on the state of jQuery these days. I mean, not the state of jQuery itself, but, for example, is anyone using plain-old old-school jQuery these days without (also) using a full SPA framework for new development?
I support a legacy product that makes heavy use of jQuery, and I still think it's relevant for apps that don't want to go the SPA route (or are still using server-side rendering such as JSP/PHP/et al), but, at least for now, my new development is in React.
Yeah, I work in a bit of a legacy universe myself, but I'm learning the fancy new stuff too.
I know the front-end universe is a bit obsessed with the new! new! new! So it's nice to have a reality check. It seems "I haven't done any jQuery in <number> <time period>" is the new "That's so last year!"
