Need to deploy a war file in unix environment

I want to deploy my webapplication in Unix server. I am very new to this unix environment. The application is developed and deployed in windowsxp environment.

I created a war file also. Anyone please help me how to deploy a war file in weblogic. I uploaded the war file but still is coming to the main screen and asking for the path of the web application. I don't know what is wrong in my war file.

I am using weblogic 8.1

Hi,

I think you have uploaded the war file on unix box fine.

Now, You should go to the browser and access the application like

eg : http://localhost/apps/context-uri/jspname.

context-uri is for identifying the war file.

I think you are missing context-uri or giving a wrong name.

No i am getting the error while starting the weblogic from the unix. can u help to fix it.

"The WebLogic Server did not start up properly.

From the error message i understood that already an instance is running. how to kill that.
or anyother option to run the weblogic server
