You can see how your country ranks using either of these two sites:

  • However that can be somewhat misleading. For instance about 35 minutes (by car) from where I live your cell phone may be fast but you could be still living with dial-up.
    For those who don't know or who can't remember with dial-up Internet you are happy if you can get one megabit every three to four minutes. This is rural Ontario Canada.

    Where I live in Ontario I can download a 400 MB file from Oracle.com (Oracle SQL Developer) in about three minutes, while using Google Hangouts to do a video chat at 7 pm on a weekday/workday.
