Hi,

Our scala section is very less active. How can we make bring in more participation from other folks. I know there are a lots of knowledgeable people who are learning functional programming. it would be a great asset for this forum to have them bring in more their expertise. We also have less questions being asked in this section.

What would be the best way ahead ?

Thanks

A few ideas:
  • Suggest a recent book for a book promo. That gets more eyes on the forum.
  • Make a bunch of posts regularly. Share interesting things you've learned about Scala in the forum.
  • Post links on twitter or other places to get more people engaged

I wonder if this is a valid method.

Frequently people post Java programming questions, some/many times with full code which is not working 100%.
What if you took those Java programming questions and answered using Scala code in the Scala section.
I would suggest that you don't got too far back in history.
I am not too sure how frequently you would Scala solution.

I wonder if this could be used for other section like the Kotlin section?

Again I'm not too sure if this is a valid solution and I'm not too sure how other members would feel about this.
Hopefully a marshal or someone else can weigh in on this method before you actually use it.

I think it's a great idea. It gives us something to learn from and discuss. And it builds a good knowledge base. It's easier to code something when you have an example.
