I have a sidebar and navbar as in the following fiddle.

FIDDLE HERE

What I want to do is on smaller screens, like mobile..Collapse the sidebar on the hamburger menu of the topbar. Currently only top navbar collapses into hamburger menu. How do I achieve this ?
Maybe the structure of html is also not appropriate for what I'm trying to do. So any help is appreciated, since I'm a complete beginner.
I understand I should use media queries to achieve this.
I did try this: Attempt fiddle . but as you can see..the topbar creates a hamburger menu for its own icons first, and then after the screen is even smaller it creates for the sidebar, and it flickers
I'm not sure how to do this.
Thank you

I'm sorry. Yes, I have asked the same question in stackoverflow too, but I haven't gotten the answer I need!
Thanks.
