hi folks,
I want to develop a Java Application that requires a DB connection pools. I am already having a web applicatin running that is using connection pool of Weblogic. I was thiking if I can use the same datasourse of Weblogic with my simple java applicaion. I might have to deploye it as an MBean or? any other idea. Is it possible or not?

Using Weblogic just for a database connection is overkill. If you don't need any other Weblogic features, don't bother. Here's a list of open-source connection pool implementations you can use.

Thanks, I have already used D3CP once, but I used it in web application. I am not sure if we can use all these pools as a components in any non-web or non-container based applicaion, like a simple java applicaion running independently of any container.

In order to use the connection pool defined in weblogic you will need to deploy your code on the weblogic server, even if its a simple java code (non web app) you can make is as a weblogic startup class.
