About a month ago I decided to learn Kotlin, and I prefer it over Java (mostly because of it's terseness, which is reason for some of you to hate it).  Both Kotlin and Scala compile down to Java Bytecode.  How do the two languages compare?  What are the strengths and weaknesses of each compared to the other?
