Hello Salih.

Many people do seem to like the OCA and OCP books by Jeanne Boyarsky and Scott Selikoff.
But I'm not sure of "Which book is the best". Simply because each person may learn things in different way and the authors of each book may explain things in different ways.

You can see what resources people have used for this exam here https://coderanch.com/wiki/659980/Ocajp-Wall-Fame.
Some people go fairly in depth with their stories explain not only the resources they use but how they prepared.
This could information could prove to be very useful and could help you save time, money and frustration.
Here is my story https://coderanch.com/t/685043/certification/passed in which I do get around to providing a brief review of the three books that I used.

When preparing for the exam/test I suggest that you do not use an IDE, but use a plain editor instead.
IDEs are great for creating production code, but they do tend to hide some of the elements that you should be aware of, which you will be tested on the exam.
Many people like using NotePad Plus Plus, Subline, Vim.

Also, I suggest that you write many small programs as you prepare for this challenge. A 20-30 line program can really help you understand concepts and reinforce things.

Before l have made preparation for ocpjp6 .
You know very famous book K&B .
Some of topic from this book still can help me for OCA8?

And one more thing for ocpjp6 preparation .
Many experienced people were saying that K&B book is enough for ocpjp6. Now l figure out that there is no such enough single  book for OCA8. Am l right?

For getting  ocp8 certificate , before should l pass OCA8

Thanks...

In theory one does not need a study guide to pass the exams. Interestingly enough some (most?) of the study guide authors do not have the luxury of having a study guide available when they write the exams.
While you may be able to write the OCP 809 exam before the OCA 808 exam Oracle states that they will not issue the certifications until you have completed both.
Alternatively, you can go from OCP Java 6 to OCP Java 8 with one exam, the 1Z0-813 exam as noted here  https://education.oracle.com/pls/web_prod-plq-dad/db_pages.getpage?page_id=5001&get_params=p_exam_id:1Z0-813.

I would suggest that you get an OCA Java 808 book as some things changed/or were introduced like Lambdas, streams and calendar/time classes.

However, for free you can try out some of the Enthuware questions to see how well you know the material.
If you do well on the trial/free questions then you may want to spend the $10 USD (last I checked) to get more than 500 exam like questions.
BUT Enthuware questions are designed so that you only take each question once. If you do it more then once you could risk memorizing questions and answers which won't help you out.

If you are planning on the OCP Java 6 exam then please note that Oracle is planning on retiring some Java exams in 2018 as noted here https://coderanch.com/t/691480/certification/Java-exam-retirements.
This includes some of the Java 6 exams.

Hi,

I used the Sybex Study Guide written by Jeanne Boyarsky and Scott Selikof and using this book i passed the exam in one try. The book covers all the necessary topics and is written very clear. Next to the book you also get a lot of online questions to practice.

Best regards,
Paul

What is wrong with Sybex? That appears to be a perfectly good answer to your original question.

salih ayan, I find your last question difficult to understand.

You maybe could put readers into context how the preparation about OCA 8 and in particular the need of an advice about the book is related with prior certifications as Java 6... Professional... Anyway, where v7 gone?

Hi . I meant that

if I want to get  "Java SE 6 Programmer Certified Professional (retiring May 31, 2018) 1Z0-851" certificate, do l have to get any prior certificate .
Because to get  "Java SE 8 Programmer II 1Z0-809" certificate there is  "Prior Certification Requirements" which is must be  "Oracle Certified Associate, Java SE 8 Programmer"

What does it say on the Oracle website? What is the point of sitting a Java6 exam? What will it look like on your CV/resumé if you do sit an exam in an obsolete version of Java® two months before it is withdrawn altogether?

Probably there is same as in OCP 8 case. Of course you could easy check this out in Oracle's website.

Have you tried? And what were your findings?

There are so many changes between Java7 and Java8 that I would suggest you are better off getting the Java8 book.

For the Java 8 OCA exam you can probably use a Java 7 OCA study guides.
For the Java 8 OCP exam you should probably use a Java 8 OCP study guide.
Here is posting be Jeanne Boyarsky  explaining this

Note that K&B now have a OCP 8 book out. So you can use the same authors when you get to OCP 8.

As stated earlier, the book you have is fine for the OCA 7.

The McGrawhill OCA8 and OCP8 study guides are split into two separate books (one book got too big) so if you have OCA/P7 from Sierra & Bates, be aware that there are now two books:

OCA8 Study Guide by Kathy Sierra and Bert Bates
and
OCP8 Study Guide by Kathy Sierra, Bert Bates, and me (Elisabeth Robson)

Regarding which books, I personally feel like the more the better so when I'm studying I generally pick up multiple titles -- obviously the expense of the books can be a limitation though. I think if you read Jeanne's book plus our McGrawhill books you'd be well prepared!

Why if you do it more than once you could risk memorizing questions and answering ?!
What i know that the more you study and maybe repeat the more you get better.
