I was wondering, since the title of the book is only what's new, is this the book just for people that they are familiar with the previous version of this book or everyone can read it?Also, do you consider this as a good studying material for Java EE Certifications?
This book is ideal for those who which to update their current knowledge of Java EE with all the new features of Java EE 8. As this book only covers what's new it assumes some prior knowledge of Java EE 5/6/7, however you don't need to be an expert EE developer. The new features added to Java EE are not technically advanced, just very cool, and you will want to know about them, especially the reactive client in JAX-RS and the brand new security API.
This book is for the curious developer who just wants to know what's new, the experienced developer who doesn't want to wade through a big book full of Java EE knowledge that s/he already has and the developer just learning Java EE who doesn't want to spend another $40 dollars on a book just to find out about the cool new bits.
With this in mind, I have priced the book at a reasonably low price so as many people as possible can access it and I am offering JavaRanchers a special price of only $9.95 (normal price $19.95) direct from leanpub: Java EE 8: Only What's New JavaRanch special offer. But hey, maybe you'll win a copy... Good luck. :-)
