Hi all,
10 years ago I had my
SCJP Java SE 6 certificate and now, I have passed 1Z0-813 - OCPJP8 upgrade exam today with 86%.
I am a full time developer so I only had my weekends for studying. I haven't been using functional programming concepts and streams on my job but 2 months was OK for me to fit.
Of course this forum was really helpful for me to achieve this.
I used the following materials
1. OCP Oracle Certified Professional Java® SE 8 Programmer II - Scott Selikoff, Jeanne Boyarsky -related chapters and of course Appendix C
2. OCA / OCP Java SE 8 Programmer Practice Tests - Scott Selikoff, Jeanne Boyarsky -Only related chapters
3. Enthuware Mock Exams (Especially Last unique one) -Amazing
About questions... Tons of Streams and Lambdas, FileVisitor, File NIO, CyclicBarrier, WatchService (WatchKey states), Daylight savings with Duration and Period, instant.truncateTo(I had saw that on this platform, so thank you all for that), ResourceBundle, Localization was there. My mock exams were between 50 - 75... And yes I failed in some of them. But in exam, though it's not so simple, if you can manage to concentrate you'll get better results comparing to mock exams.
Wish you all luck
