Will K&B OCP book be useful for upgrade exam?

I have sun microsystem certification. Will your book useful for upgrade exam? I haven't looked upon Oracle site for details.

I loved your book for my first java certification and love to do it again (feel the urge)

for sure it covers everything you need to go from either java6 or java7. but be aware - if all you're doing is upgrading, you won't need to real all the chapters you bought.

Your previous book helped me a lot to pass my Java 6 Programmer Certificate!

Now I am planning to take an upgrade exam.
I am curious if you specially dedicate some chapters in the book to upgrade certificate, for example, to upgrade certificate from Java SE 6 and all prior versions?

No we didn't dedicate chapters to the upgrade so you'll have to dig through the objectives to see which chapters (and sections) you'll need to read from the new book to cover everything.

Because you were writing a book about the exam, not a book about the upgrades since the last exam. A chapter of upgrades would have been really tedious and awkward to read.

I think Oracle should have upgrade topics and we can scan them in your book. It will be super helpful if the author put upgrade sign against topic or chapter.

Well we didn't do that... so you'll need to study the objectives for the upgrade and the objectives for OCP8 and do that yourself (you can use the handy objectives table in the intro for OCP8 and the online objectives for upgrade for comparison).

For those items NOT on the OCP 8 exam that ARE in the upgrade, you can find those listed in the introduction (there are basically only a handful) and the appendix for more details.
