I have an alias on my desktop for an application and i want to change the default icon to a custom icon. On PC's that is a trivial task, on Mac Running High Sierra is seems much more difficult.  I have not been able to find a method that works using google search.

It is sorta covered in the JavaRanch Style Guide.
