cmd command in groovy doesnt work

why does this command does not work in groovy?



it gives me the error




but it works when I directly type it in cmd

Great question. The reason that doesn't work is because it is relying on pipes/redirection. Which means you need a UNIX command line.

You can simulate this by passing the command you want to run to /bin/bash. That way bash provides the shell (and pipes/redirects for you).

I tested with a pipe instead of a redirect so I didn't have to go looking for a file.
