Hi John, welcome to the Ranch!

John Bernard wrote:what is wrong ?

Usually when something is wrong you'll see some evidence of that. Such as error messages from the compiler or the runtime, missing output, all kinds of things. To debug the problem the first step is to look at that evidence and evaluate it.

But so far you are the only person who has seen it. Remember that out here on the other end of the internet, we can't see what you see on your computer. So... tell us.

Great! So the runtime error occurs in this code:

The error message says that objects[n] isn't a String and so it can't be cast to a String. But the if-statement just before that says "Don't do this unless objects[n] is a String". And clearly the error message says it isn't one. And therefore the code which tries to cast it to a String should not be executed.

But in the code you're running, that String-casting code IS executed. So it looks to me like the code you posted isn't the code which runs and throws the exception. So could you investigate that possibility?

(My rather wild guess is that this is an old application, and it was modified recently to support LocalDateTime objects. I had to do a similar thing recently for date and time handling in my application. So perhaps you're looking at the new and improved version of the Java code but the old version is what you actually ran.)

You should use the -Xlint option when compiling.  It would give this warning:

Ouch. You're right, that's the answer and my wild guess isn't.

i tried that i added -xlint:unchecked. But still getting the same runtime error. Also i get some warnings in other parts telling me this or that is unchecked.

That's what Xlint is supposed to do: warn you when your code could be dangerous.

still getting the same runtime error

Yes, changing what warnings the compiler issues will not change the code to fix the error.  You need to read the warnings and change the code to fix the problem.

Do you understand what the warning was that I posted?  The ; ends the if statement.  The code in the following {} block is NOT controlled by the if statement.  In other words, the code in the {} block is always executed.
Remove the ; to put the {} block under control of the if statement.
