How do I make a button in an already existing JFrame?  I also want it to do something when I press the button.

Define an instance of the button class.
Add that instance to a container that is shown in the window.
Add a listener to the button.

See the tutorial:
https://docs.oracle.com/javase/tutorial/uiswing/components/button.html
https://docs.oracle.com/javase/tutorial/uiswing/events/actionlistener.html
