Hi,
I installed the Websphere Application Server 4.0, and everything looks fine, but when I try to look at the samples (http://thor/WSsamples/index.html), I get a 404 (page not found) error.
What gives?
I have tried looking at different ports (9090, 9080, one I added, etc.) but I don't see anything.
BTW, where does the root directory map too. I figured it would be the IBM http server\htdocs directory, but this also does not appear to be working.
I've looked at my log files, and I will look at them again, but I don't see any errors. Maybe I just need to configure some things.
Any help will be greatly appreciated,

Sweet!!!
I got it fixed.
Problem was that I had IIS running, which completely blocked out the WebSphere - no error or anything.

So how does it feel to be working on a complete J2EE compliant WAS. For me it is feels great working on this platform.
I have totally dumped 3.54.
Now Watch out Weblogic , Websphere 4 is here.

Hi,
I tried a lot to configure in WebSphere 3.0 with Apache but in vain hence I switched over to WebSphere 4.0.And successfully configured WAS4.0 with Apache. All the samples and administrative console are working properly. My problem now is
Where can I put the servlets and jsps files in WebSphere 4.0.Currently I don't need to use any EJBs in my app.I think it is necessary for me to create only the war file and deploy?.
If so,how?.
Is there any complete documentation to how to configure web applications in WebSphere 4.0?
Thanks,
Karthi

We should throw him a surprise party. It will cheer him up. We can use this tiny ad:
