I have configured Hikari CP for my spring application , i have set maxconnection to 10  but when i startup the application and check mysql processlist it show me 15 connections are in use. I made sure no other application is using the same credentials.

Hibernate 4.3.11.Final
Hikari 3.1.0
Tomcat - 8.0.45
Mysql - 5.7
