In question 10 for assessment exam in OCA Oracle Certified Associate Java SE 8 Programmer there is a mistake on question #10.

The answer states that C, D and F are correct. This is not true. Look at this code:

The answer here is clearly G (code wont compile). In the constructor you have not defined a type for variable "name" this will not work.

Welcome to CodeRanch!

Please always mention book name plus author(s) or publication name, would be easier for volunteers to know which book you are referring to. Since you are new and I have this book so edited title. It's from Sybex, authors Jeanne Boyarsky and Scott Selikoff.

did you read the explanation? It has an errata <-- click here to read all erratas of the book.

Hi Ganesh,

I mentioned book in title but in future ill try to provide as much information as possible to help volunteers identify the correct book. I'm also following the errata, there is nothing wrong with this question. The variable "name" is defined at bottom of the code and i overlooked it. Answer in book is correct. Thank you for the swift response.

I was not talking about question, question is correct but i was talking about errata in explanation on page xli. You can see that on errata page which says

#10 – “Reference one points to g1” should be “Reference one points to g2”

I think you have recently printed book i.e. second printing in that errata was fixed, anyway

Thank you for the swift response.

My pleasure
