Bit confused about something, the program below basically asks the user to input a single integer, when the programs runs in its current form it displays nothing in the output screen but when you change the while condition to != -1 it works just fine, can anyone explain this to me?

keepGoing is initialized to false by default.

I think that keepGoing would be better as a local variable than a fied.

You don't actually need a boolean variable in the first place:-Prefer < and > over <= and >= if possible; they are easier to read.
