Is the class org.springframework.core.AliasRegistry part of the org.springframework.beans-3.1.2.release.jar file?

I don't no, after change commons-digester-3.2.jar to commons-digester-2.1.jar I'm getting this error. I'm including lib in my classpath for each error that I get, solution in internet forums.

You shouldn't swap out library versions willy-nilly. Jasperreport will likely need its exact set of dependencies to work with.

I don't no

Then you should find out. "jar -tf" is the way to check what's in a jar file.

org.springframework.core.AliasRegistry is not part of
org.springframework.beans-3.1.2.release.jar.

OK, so you need to find out which jar does contain that class, and more importantly, why you didn't add that jar file when you added the other one. I actually suspect there may be more missing jar files - what does the Spring documentation say about what's needed for a basic Spring app?

It's (unsurprisingly, given the package name) in spring-core. It's been available since version 2.5.2 according to the javadoc.

And I can see that you're missing that. Don't you use maven, gradle or some other tool to manage your dependencies?

Using a dependency manager is preferable. But if not, then this part becomes important:

I actually suspect there may be more missing jar files - what does the Spring documentation say about what's needed for a basic Spring app?

Another way is to use mvnrepository.com. If you search for a dependency and click on the specific version, you can do two things that will help you resolve all dependencies:
* download the JAR file of the dependency itself.
* a list of all compile and runtime dependencies.

If you go through this process recursively (which can be very time consuming) you will be able to get everything you need.
