i am writing a c# based windows application.i want to get an event when i do the right click on a file and  chose copy,cut or paste in windows...through that event i want the  first directory and the second directory path and name of the file...is it possible?any code?any clue?

I suggest you get a good book on Windows GUI app design. It should tell you.

I believe that you're going to get the full pathname and if you want to break it up into filename, parent directories you'll have to do it yourself, but it has been a very long time since I programmed for Windows.
