Way back in 2001, I became a Sun certified Java Programmer and during that time I used this website a lot. After a long pause, I want to refresh my java skills. I am kinda lost and am wondering how to pick up where I left off and begin my java career. Any suggestions/ tips?

Welcome back

Java® has changed much in those eighteen years.
One thing I suggest you should learn is how to add generics to the Collections Framework. Try this tutorial. There are lots of other new features, but take them one at a time. Update some of your old code to use generics and post it here and we'll see what we think of it.
