The FSF jumped on the Valentine's Day bandwagon to declare something they don't like (JavaScript) to be especially bad when applied to dating sites. I'm in the middle between "they've gone off the deep end" and "it's sad that they have come to this, what with all the accomplishments they have". It seems that Stallman's curious brand of ideology pervades more and more of what they do these days.

When I first saw that site, I thought that is a good 1st April link. But I think they might have a real point there; who wants **** recording one's girlfriend's/boyfriend's name and address? And I think Tim's first point is right; they have rather gone OTT/off the deep end.

OTT = Over The Top.

FSF = Free Software Foundation
Stallman = Richard Stallman

It's sad because they wrote nearly all the open software that goes into what we call Linux except the kernel and got very little recognition for it.

It is sorta covered in the JavaRanch Style Guide.
