Would you like to develop your systems engineering career whilst working on exciting submarine combat system projects? We currently have a number of vacancies for Systems Engineers. The roles can be based at one of the following BAE Systems sites: Weymouth, Broad Oak (Portsmouth) or Frimley.
As a Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for the design and development of a submarine command system. You will be taking the lead in managing requirements, creating designs, and overseeing suppliers.
This role will provide you with the opportunity to work on a major, high-profile engineering programme, enabling you to interact with a number of internal and external stakeholders including the Ministry of Defence. This role also offers flexible working, an annual bonus incentive scheme, the potential for paid overtime (dependent on business requirements), and support towards chartership, if required.
Your main responsibilities as a Systems Engineer will involve:
Overseeing the development of submarine system technology updates and design improvements
Leading the management of the system requirements through DOORS software, and related assurance activities
Supporting Project Management teams and BAE Technical Authorities to deliver an updated design and implement planning processes
Liaising with internal and external customers to ensure system Requirements are adequately supported through planning, installation, integration and trial activities
Ensuring requirements are implemented and qualification evidence is generated either by the supplier or on their behalf
Providing realistic programme status, identify problem areas and implement agreed recovery plans
Your skills and qualifications as a Systems Engineer:
Experience in one or more of the following areas:
· Systems engineering
· System design
· Requirements management
· Validation/ verification
Experience gained from a complex engineering environment (such as defence, maritime, aerospace, oil and gas, nuclear, automotive etc.)
Electronic or communication systems background
Degree in relevant engineering discipline

Good written and verbal communication skills are important, and you will also have the ability to multi-task between multiple concurrent tasks at different stages of the systems lifecycle.
