Greetings,

I am currently studying for the OCP Java SE 8 exam. I already passed the OCA Java SE 8. What would be more appropiate?

  1. Taking the exam for OCP Java SE 8 and then the upgrade exam to OCP Java SE 11 (1Z0-817)?, or

  2. Not taking the exam for OCP Java SE 8 and do the Java SE 11 sequence instead (1Z0-815 and 1Z0-816).

Any advice would be very much appreciated.

Thanks.

I would go with the first option because that way, I will get OCPJP 8 cert after one exam and another OCPJP 11 cert after the second.

In the second option, you will need to take both the exams before you get any certification.

Welcome to the Ranch

Your question is different from the topic of its original location, so it merits a thre‍ad of its own.
