As the title says really, is Go a general purpose language or is it more suited to specific applications?

I host a github style application called "GOGS". It's written in Go. In fact, that's what the name means - something like "Go Git System". It's open-source and runs well in Docker.
 
With a little knowledge, a cast iron skillet is non-stick and lasts a lifetime.
